"Asking for advice from my friend"

Dear Ashley,

It has been a while since we wrote to each other, so I wanted to send an email. I am writing to ask for your advice, because my parent wouldn't let go on holiday and they want me to study for my exams but this is urgent one so I really need to go. One of my friend's birthday is coming this weekend. I haven't been in her birthday last 2 years. So, if I don't go this time it would be so rude and impolite. Actually, she is the who has grown with me as a neighbour. She is turning 16 and this is big time of her life. This party going to be very fantastic. At the same time, my final exams are next week. I told my parents that I would study on holiday but they don't believe me. It would be great help if you could advice me. Waiting to hear from you.
